Application of Impact Crusher in Small Beneficiation Plant

Many a beneficiation plant is haunting between small profits and loss due to low prices and hard sales. These kinds of plants have no mines for their own side, and all have problems of backward beneficiation technology, outmoded and coarse equipments, small-scaled enterprises as well as low concentrate grade. So how to develop these enterprises in current situation and make them profitable and competitive are substantial issues faced leaders of beneficiation plant.

For the first step, let us check up the raw material crushing:
Raw material particle size crushed in small-scaled beneficiation plant is generally about 25mm, which drop the grinding efficiency to a large extent. As mill is fine crushing equipment, it performs not so well to grind ore in 25mm to 80um and will consume 25KWH power to crush 1 ton middle hard ores. But with advanced crushing technology, where raw ores have been reduced below 10mm, the power consumption is only 13KWH.

So add fine crushing equipment in coarse crushing system will reduce the particle size from 25mm to 10mm before further grinding and it only consume 5KWH power. To take this configuration of fine crushing before grinding will reduce 7KWH power consumption in processing 1 ton ores. What is more, the cost of hammer and liner in fine crushing equipment is obviously lower than that of steel ball and liner in ball mill.

Although fine crushing equipments in current market are plenty and varied, there are still not enough ideal equipments meeting customers’ requirement, take hammer crusher for example, both the vertical shaft hammer crusher and horizontal type hammer crusher have such shortcomings as lower service life of hammer, frequent change of hammer and liner, low production capacity per hour per unit, high power consumption, hard maintenance, low operation and so on. According to statistics, in crushing every 1ton ores the hammer and liner will consume 1 RMB and 7KWH power.

Hereafter we come to a conclusion that impact crusher and impact fine crusher are more suitable to crush iron ores, for instance, cone crusher, whose power consumption is 5KWH per ton, lower than other fine crushing equipment. Life circle of wearing parts as liner will be enhanced to half a year. The consumption of liner and hammer in per ton ore crushing will reduce from 0.2 mt to 0.01mt.
