Belt conveyors are the most commonly used powered conveyors because they are the most versatile and the least expensive. It shall be used abide by correct steps to avoid unnecessary breakdown. Here are some tips for maintenance.
Rubber belt shall be kept clean; it shall not be exposed to direct sunlight, rain or snow for a long time. Rubber belt shall not touch materials like acid, alkali, organic solvent, it shall be put one meter away from heat generating device. When feeding materials, chute shall be used to relief impact force and shorten fall distance when material drops. To avoid leakage, a soft and moderate keep-off plate shall be equipped on both sides of belt conveyor.
Rubber belt conveyor shall be stored in temperature between -18-40 degrees; relative humidity shall be kept between 50-80%. Belt conveyor shall be selected according to users’ requirement considering its types, structure, specification, layers. Its running speed shall be slower than 2.5m/s, speed shall be slowed down when loading blocky and abrasive materials; rubber belt shall be rolled up in the storeroom, and be turned over every season. Additional measures shall be adopted when dustproof, anti-explosion, anti-corrosion belt conveyors are required.
