There are many ways that energy consumption in a cement plant can be reduced.  The best time to improve energy efficiency is at  design phase.  A thorough knowledge of the entire cement production process is needed and it would also be necessary to carry out a very detailed cost benefit analysis  of the design options as some of them may cost more than the energy saved.

The energy mainly consumed is power for a cement plant. During the cement production, each set of device and process requires power consumption. Through the following methods, we can effectively save the power energy resources:

1. Install motor light load saver for the transport equipment with lower load rate. The power can be effectively saved by controlling and changing the motor spindle winding wiring, namely, corner or star shifting.

2. Carry out technical transformation for the fan and motor; increase the speed control device, due to the actual needs in the production process, the kiln air volume should be adjusted at any time so as to save energy. 

3. Select energy-saving equipment. Gradually implement green lighting projects for the production, living and office areas to reduce the company's energy consumption;

4. Pay attention to the use of frequency converter. If the conventional power supply is adopted, the motors, pumps and fans can only run at the same speed, which may produce energy waste. To change this situation, it is strongly suggested to install the inverter and adopt external adjustment. 

In addition, the modern cement plant should make most use of the heat produced during the process of cement clinker burning. It can be used for preheat raw materials or generate electricity.
