What are the Common Types of Stone Crushers

Release Date:2017-07-17Click times:69 Edited by:admin

The stone crusher is specially designed to reduce various types of large rocks into small and relatively uniform sizes. Stone crushers are used in mining, quarrying and recycling operations. The common types of stone crushers include hammer crushers, jaw crushers, impact crushers, roller crushers and gyratory crushers. A stone crusher is often a huge machine which can process thousands of tons of material a day.

hammer crusher

1.Hammer crusher has a rotating shaft that is fitted with free-swinging hammers. The raw materials are processed by the high-speed rotating hammers and mutual collision among the rocks. The hammer crusher is commonly used as primary crusher with large capacity and reduction ratio. The crushing capacity of Dingli hammer crusher varies from 50 ton to 3000 ton per hour.

2.Jaw crusher is mostly applied in large mining or quarrying operations. A jaw crusher is designed to crush large pieces of ore or rock between two plates or jaws. One jaw is stationary, and the other is mounted so that the two jaws form a V-shape. The second jaw moves back and forth relative to the first jaw, crushing the material as it moves downward, until the pieces are small enough to fall through the opening at the point of the V.

3.Impact crusher is widely applied in mining, construction and other industries as primary or secondary crusher. The materials in the crushing chamber suffer a high speed crush from the high-speed rotating hammers and then the crushed materials rush over to the impact plate and come back again. This process will repeat until the products satisfy the requirements.

4. Roller crusher is suitable  for softer rock like sandstone. The rough pieces of rock are fed into a mechanism consisting of rollers fitted with teeth that interlock with teeth on an opposite roller as they rotate. These teeth grasp the pieces of rock to be crushed and force them between the rollers where they are crushed and fed out the other side.

5.Gyratory crusher is similar to jaw crusher, but it has a cone shaped hopper with a smaller cone-shaped crushing head that gyrates around the inside of the hopper in an eccentric movement rather than rotating, crushing the raw material until the particles are small enough to fall through the opening at the bottom. Cone crushers are very similar to gyratory crushers, but the crushing chamber is generally designed with less steeply sloping sides.

Each type of the above mentioned stone crushers has own advantages and disadvantages. The customer can select the most suitable type based on the quality of raw materials and own requirements for the final products.
